This is a design for a 3D printer which prints with living cells.
Science Art group "18 apples" is engaged in art projects on the edge of contemporary science and technology. In the run-up to the Ars Electronica festival, the team needed a stylized design of a protective case for their project called Metabol.A.I. — a DIY 3D bio-printer, that uses living cells as its' printing material, and is operated by a neural network program which is generating a biomorphic pattern for printing using as its' source a database with million images of real cells of different shapes and formations.
